Summer Sausage - 16 OZ

I ve always enjoyed Bridgford summer sausage and have been a fan of the product for a long time. The flavor has always been great and it used to have a firm texture that sliced perfectly.

However, the two 2lb summer sausages I purchased from Sams Club in December 2025 seemed different in texture. They were much softer and tended to fall apart when slicing. I even purchased a second one thinking it might have been a one-time issue, but it had the same result.

I truly enjoy this product and hope the original quality and texture can return. If price adjustments are needed to maintain that quality, I would completely understand. Bridgford has always been a favorite in my home, and I would love to continue buying the same great product I remember.

I (Prefer) Bridgeford Summer Sausage’original flavored over any other Summer Sausage available anywhere. The flavor is a superior blend of ingredients. Very tasty indeed.

Great Product

I keep a couple of these in my desk drawer for long workdays. It’s got great taste, fills me up without carbs, and saves me from hitting the vending machine. I’m on a keto diet and this is one of my go-tos for snacking at the office.

Honestly, I stock up on these for my emergency food supply and end up eating half of them before I even need them. They last forever, taste great, and don’t need refrigeration. It’s like comfort food with a shelf life, and perfect for road trips, cabins, and storm kits.

I’ve tried a bunch of different brands for camping snacks, and this Bridgford sausage is a winner. It’s shelf-stable, easy to slice, and has a nice smoky flavor that pairs great with sharp cheddar and crackers. No need to refrigerate until opened, super convenient when packing light.

I was excited to try this because of the good reviews, but for me, the texture was just a bit too soft. The flavor was solid, classic summer sausage taste, but I personally prefer a firmer bite. Still, I ate it all, though, so that says something.

I ordered a few of these to include in DIY snack baskets for Father’s Day and they were a total hit. Everyone said the sausage was tasty and fresh. It’s affordable and makes a great gift for anyone who loves savory snacks.

Used these in a last-minute cheese and meat tray for a backyard party and people devoured them. Really nice meaty texture and classic summer sausage flavor. If I’m being picky, it’s a touch on the salty side, but nothing some grapes and soft cheese won’t balance out.

Maybe I haven't eaten summer sausage in a while so my review needs to acknowledge that. Bought at Jewel for a party. Went to cut it up and it was mushy. Never served it cause I expected a solid piece of meat. It almost tasted like liver sausage. It was not like any summer sausage I remember.

This sausage has become our Friday night tradition! I slice it up with cheese cubes and apple slices for an easy snack tray while we watch movies. Even my picky kids love it. Super flavorful without being too spicy.

I grabbed this hoping for a rich, bold flavor like Hickory Farms, and while it’s decent, it just didn’t hit quite the same notes. It’s a little paler in color and milder in spice. That said, it sliced cleanly, didn’t feel greasy, and was a good value for the price. If you’re not picky, it’s a solid choice.

Took this on our last camping trip and it was a hit. Didn’t need a cooler and stayed fresh the whole time. We paired it with some crusty bread and mustard, super satisfying after a long hike.

Love the smoky, meaty flavor, & it reminds me of the sausage my dad used to bring home from hunting trips. My only gripe is that I wish there were an option for pre-sliced for easier snacking on the go.

So! It's not the caviar of Summer Sausage, I'm the sort of person who is happy with a can of sardines anyway.
